Men’s Soccer

The men’s soccer team might have had bigger problems than just their 3-0 loss to the Adelphi Panthers on Saturday. During the match, co-captain senior Fernando Segares collided with another Jasper and received a concussion when the two went up for a header. Segares had to be hospitalized for two nights, and the other Jasper’s status is unknown but believed to be not as serious as Segares. Segares is recovering nicely and should be back on the field soon for MC. The Jaspers fall to 1-8-1 with the loss while Adelphi improves to 7-1-2.

Women’s Soccer

The MC women’s soccer team went 0-1-1 last week when they hit the road to face off Niagara and Canisius. The Ladies fell to the Purple Eagles when Courtney Davies scored the only goal for Niagara in sudden victory overtime. The Jaspers entered double overtime again in their contest at Canisus. This time a goal from Junior Kristin Spiros would lead them to a 1-1 tie.
